How to take care of a Bouvardia?

Improved Bouvardia
Bouvardia is a beautiful flower with a rich history. It got its name from Charles Bouvard; the court physician to Louis XIII and head of the ‘Jardin du Roi’ in Paris.

Longer shelf life
Advanced genetics and improved growing conditions have prolonged the shelf life of Bouvardia more than ever before. Until recently, Bouvardia had to be treated more or less like ‘royalty’ but that is a thing of the past. However, it has maintained its regal looks.

More colours and new varieties
The number of available colours has been increased considerably. There is currently a whole range of single and double flowered varieties of Bouvardia available.

The new Bouvardia is the ultimate flower for every occasion. On this website, we provide you with inspiring examples!

A grower in heart and soul

The Borgijink nursery has been entirely dedicated to Bouvardia since 2003. It didn't take long to decide on this product. Clemens Borgijink made the decision to give up the cultivation of vegetables and to concentrate on growing this niche product because Bouvardia cultivation is small scale in character.
In cultivating Bouvardia, expertise takes central stage. The ‘green thumb feeling’ is exactly what he needs. Clemens Borgijink: “In our nursery, we grow five Bouvardia varieties. These are supplied to the flower auction both per variety as well in a mix. By offering them mixed as well, we reach a broader market. This enables also small florists to work with these wonderful flowers.”
